Shia Screwed Production

Shia LaBeouf IS costing the Transformers sequel production a pretty penny. According to Daily Variety, the drunk driver is out for a month because of his hand injury and his absence has thrown a monkey wrench into the production schedule. An insider said there was no work stoppage but rescheduling has proven to be a logistical headache. Scenes featuring co-star Josh Duhamel had to be moved to this week to work around LaBeouf's absence. Another person familiar with the situation said, "Everyone had to adjust their schedule." A source also reported that the crew lost two days of filming all because of Shia. The film's director, Michael Bay, declined comment. That probably means he's super pissed!

Strong Quake Shakes Southern California

LOS ANGELES (July 29) - A strong earthquake shook Southern California on Tuesday, causing buildings to sway and triggering some precautionary evacuations. There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries. The jolt was felt from Los Angeles to San Diego, and slightly in Las Vegas. The 11:42 a.m. quake was initially estimated at 5.8 by the U.S. Geological Survey but was revised downward to 5.4. More than a dozen aftershocks quickly followed, the largest estimated at magnitude-3.8. The quake was centered 29 miles southeast of downtown Los Angeles near the San Bernardino County city of Chino Hills, and was estimated to be about 8 miles below the earth's surface. "It will certainly cause cracked plaster and broken windows, but probably not structural damage," USGS seismologist Kate Hutton said. The magnitude-5.9 Whittier Narrows quake in 1987 was the last big shake in that area. That quake heavily damaged older buildings and houses in communities east of Los Angeles. The Governor's Office of Emergency Services had received no damage or injury reports, said spokesman Kelly Huston in Sacramento. Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey said there were no immediate reports of damage or injury in Los Angeles. San Bernardino and San Diego counties also had no immediate reports of damage. Buildings swayed in downtown Los Angeles for several seconds. Workers quickly evacuated some office buildings. "It was dramatic. The whole building moved and it lasted for a while," said Los Angeles County sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore, who was in the sheriff's suburban Monterey Park headquarters east of Los Angeles. As strongly as it was felt, the quake was far less powerful than the magnitude-6.7 Northridge earthquake that badly damaged the region on Jan. 17, 1994. That quake was the last damaging temblor in Southern California. It killed 72 people, injured more than 9,000 and caused $25 billion in damage in the metropolitan area. No electrical outages were reported in Los Angeles due to the quake, said Department of Water and Power spokeswoman Kim Hughes. In Orange County, about 2000 detectives were attending a conference on gangs at a Marriott hotel in Anaheim when a violent jolt shook the main conference room. Mike Willever, who was at the hotel, said, "First we heard the ceiling shaking, then the chandelier started to shake, then there was a sudden movement of the floor." Chris Watkins, from San Diego, said he previously felt several earthquakes, but "that was one of the worst ones." Delegates and guests at a cluster of hotels near the Disneyland resort spilled into the streets immediately after the quake. Huston, the governor's OES spokesman, said officials in Sacramento were on a conference call when the earthquake struck, discussing the availability of firefighting equipment with a Southern California emergency management team. "They felt it. We could actually hear some shaking on the phone. Now we've completely shifted gears — we're on earthquakes," Huston said. Joseph Maddalena, who runs the historical documents and memorabilia dealer Profiles in History, was on the phone in his office in Calabasas, near Malibu, when the earthquake struck. He quickly put down the phone and ran to check on his 14-year-old son who had come to work with him as he prepared for a Thursday auction of 1,100 pieces of Hollywood movie memorabilia. "Our building shook pretty good," he said after discovering his son and his employees were unharmed and the building was fine. "The window in my office kind of bowed out but it's all right now. Everything is fine," he said. The damage created by an earthquake depends greatly on where it hits. A 7.1 quake — much stronger than Northridge — hit the Mojave Desert in 1999 but caused only a few injuries and no deaths. California is one of the world's most seismically active regions. More than 300 faults crisscross the state, which sits atop two of Earth's major tectonic plates, the Pacific and North American plates. About 10,000 quakes each year rattle Southern California alone, although most of them are too small to be felt.

Miley Hates Nick's New Girlfriend, Selena

' One Disney star mocking her fellow Disney stars! This is all sooo high school….and we love it. Disney cutie Selena Gomez made a YouTube video with her equally cute lifelong BFF and fellow Disney star Demi Lovato. Well, Miley Cyrus, the ex-girlfriend of Nick Jonas, who is now dating Selena, is not a big fan of Gomez's. Along with that annoying much older friend of hers, Mandy, Cyrus made a video making fun of Demi and Selena. That Cyrus girl is not only a slut, she's a bitch too, y'all. Miley doesn't seem to like it that Gomez and Lovato are both being touted as "Disney's next Miley." Screw Cyrus. GO Team Selena & Demi!

Sad Story

This is so sad, yet touching. Reece Fleming was diagnosed with leukaemia back in 2004 when he was just 4 years old. He battled the disease for years until this May, when doctors gave the 8 year old boy only a few weeks to live. The family decided to try and help him achieve most of his goals before he would pass. And one of those was to marry his school sweetheart, Elleanor Purgslove. Reece's mother said "When we found out that we only had a few weeks with him we tried to do absolutely everything with him that we could. Him and Ellie had been 'special friends' for a couple of years but then they broke up. We said we'd have a pirate party, and Ellie came. She went to visit Reece a few times in hospital as well." Then during a recent laser tag party, Reece "proposed" to his little friend. After she accepted, their parents arranged a pretend wedding at Reece's home (not the kids pictured above). The families went out to dinner in the mayor's limousine and organized the wedding with rings and even a fictional certificate. The kids got married on July 4th. And Reece told his mom, "I can go now," after his wedding wish had been fulfilled. His mom added, "He was so proud of her, and we were proud of them both." The following day after the wedding, Reece died at home with his family. Soooooo sad! During the funeral, the mourners followed a horse-draw hearse on foot. His mom added, "Even on the Saturday that he died, he got out of bed and walked to the sofa. He always tried walking, right to the end, so we thought if he walked for us then we would walk for him." What an amazing little boy.

Banksy Unmasked!

For years the graffiti artist known as Banksy has been the art world's Deep Throat: a hugely influential figure whose identity remained shrouded in mystery. Now, like Deep Throat, he has been given a name. Banksy is a 34-year-old native of Bristol, England, named Robin Gunningham, Britain's the Mail on Sunday reported on July 13. The thread that may have unraveled the mystery was a 2004 photograph taken in Jamaica, which many — including photographer Peter Dean Rickards — say is the only known picture of Banksy. (The artist's agent, Steve Lazarides, denied that the photo — which depicts a man in jeans and sneakers crouching above a can of spray paint — is of Banksy. A spokeswoman for the artist declined to confirm or deny the Mail's report.)

Watch Out X-Men There's a Mew Group Of Superheroes in Town

Watchmen is set in 1985, in an alternative history United States where costumed adventurers are real and the country is edging closer to a nuclear war with the Soviet Union (the Doomsday Clock is at five minutes to midnight). It tells the story of a group of past and present superheroes and the events surrounding the mysterious murder of one of their own. Watchmen depicts superheroes as real people who must confront ethical and personal issues, who struggle with neuroses and failings, and who - with one notable exception - lack anything recognizable as super powers. Watchmen's deconstruction of the conventional superhero archetype, combined with its innovative adaptation of cinematic techniques and heavy use of symbolism, multi-layered dialogue, and metafiction, has influenced both comics and film. Cast for the movie from left to right: Malin Akerman as Sally Jupiter, Billy Crudup as Dr. Manhattan, Patrick Wilson as Nite Owl II (he was wonderful in Hard Candy), Thomas Jane (rumored) as the Comedian, Matthew Goode as Ozymandias, and Jackie Earle Haley as Rorschach. I AM SO EXITED!

The Dark Knight is going to be H-U-G-E.

We mentioned last week that industry experts estimate a $130 million opening weekend for the flick (or possibly higher). Here are more stats that prove just how big this weekend will be for the film: - 4,366 screens across North America will be playing the Heath Ledger starring movie. Hollywood insiders say that's an industry record! - Fandango (which sells tickets to more than 15,000 theater screens) reports that The Dark Knight accounts for an impressive 90% of all ticket sales for the upcoming weekend. Dayum! Hope y'all got your tickets early like we did! - MovieTickets.com says The Dark Knight has sold out 700 performances in North America and is outselling 3 of MovieTickets.com’s Top 10 Performing Films of All-Time. To date, the newest Batman has more than 3-times as many advance tickets as Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, more than 2-times as many as Spider-Man 3 and almost 2-times as many as Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers at the same point in the sales cycle. Looks like AMC is going to be packed Tonight!

"I’ve always thought of it as an old woman’s name, so I demanded that everyone call me Blair. In high school, when people found out my name was Selma, they’d call me things like Smell-ma or Salmonella.
